ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER COCO OLAKUNLE

Coco is a Dutch-Nigerian photographer from Amsterdam. She studied Human Geography and her intrinsic curiosity for people is clearly visible in her work. Since recently getting to know her father’s home country of Nigeria, the focus in her work has shifted - finding new ways to translate the energy and humanity of West Africa into visual stories. "KLABU is where my personal background and my mission in my photography come together.” With this campaign for KLABU, Coco wanted to challenge people’s mindset and attitude about what it means to be a young refugee and help to change perspectives about the African continent.
