"We speak many different languages in the camp, but the language of sports is one we all share." - Nancy (20) from South Sudan
Conditions in refugee camps around the world are often extremely difficult, but young people like Nancy and Emile refuse to give in to despair and waste their lives. In the Kalobeyei Settlement in Kenya, and many other camps globally, they are building a new home, going to school, and starting small businesses whenever possible. They are preparing for a better future. Either returning to their own country when it’s safe or resettling in a new land.
Playing sports brings joy and structure to their life and they give it their all - whether they are coaching a football team or studying to become a doctor.
When you join the KLABU, you are directly empowering young refugees like Nancy and Emile to play sports and rebuild their lives in places like Kalobeyei. You are also supporting our mission to unlock the power and joy of sports in more refugee camps around the world.
