Renowned for his abstract and colour-blocking paintings and murals, Fabian de Randamie has made a name for himself in the Suriname street art scene. We are honoured to have collaborated with him on the design for the Commewijne Spirit tennis court.

Through research and workshops with the children of Community Tennis Suriname, Fabian co-created a design reflecting the story of the club and the children’s connection to tennis, the local community and nature.

The design features a mix of abstract shapes and lines and the Allamanda cathartica flower that grows on the grounds of the clubhouse. The flower is a symbol for the blooming of the clubhouse and the community.

What should people feel when they see or play on the tennis court? "Energy”, Fabian states. Motivated by the artwork and Salome’s coaching, “they will become better tennis players”, he adds.
