Introducing: KLABU Clubhouse Creators

From our KLABU's to the world, meet our Clubhouse Creators, the voices of the club. Follow their growth as visual storytellers representing their people.
In the past few months, we have had the honour of setting up curious and talented storyteller duos in these three clubhouses. The goal? To bring local stories to an international audience. Sharing the KLABU spirit far and wide, from updates of local celebrations to stories of unbeatable spirit. Sharing the stories that deserve to be heard - and seen.

In Kalobeyei, 28-year old Jean Marie (originally from Congo DRC) and Nancy (originally from South Sudan) capture the world how they see it.
From sharing updates on the clubhouses’ expansion - a new hall for yoga, and a new basketball court - to filming energetic football tournaments and dance performances during the monthly "Kalobattle", a talent show featuring local artists. Passionate about the many colourful activities at the first KLABU in Kalobeyei, this storytellers-in-training duo is one to keep an eye on!

Similarly, Clubhouse Creators Dahi and Fatimetou (both originally from Mali) represent the M’Bera Spirit proudly.
As role models for the many young children in the refugee camp, the two are a spark of hope for many. Whether it’s Fatimetou’s own story of unbeatable spirit, from her running origins in Mali to starting a Girl’s Run club in M’bera, or Dahi covering the many tournaments in football or volleyball, the two have a journalistic approach that is steeped in passion and pride of their people and culture.

Noura and Mohammad (both originally from Syria) are unmissable in the Azraq Spirit KLABU in Jordan.
With years of expertise in photography and videography working for a variety of NGOs, they are skilled storytellers whose stories and visuals touch the lives of those around them. Their work is a testament to their belief as refugee storytellers.

"A person's refugee status does not mean they have no message to share. You can deliver your message. Keep following your dreams. Never stop dreaming."
