Global Refugee Crisis

80 million people. That is one percent of the world’s population. It is also the number of forcibly displaced people worldwide and the highest we have witnessed since the end of the Second World War. Of this staggering figure, nearly 50% are children who, in most cases, have been deprived of an education and all other aspects that constitute a normal childhood.

These communities flee war and persecution from countries like South Sudan, Venezuela and Myanmar. As their ranks have grown, so has anger about their presence, which has led to solutions being isolated from the global sphere. Whilst many countries are slashing their refugee cap, it is often forgotten that 86% of the forcibly displaced people are hosted in developing countries like Pakistan, Uganda and Bangladesh.
