For many Amsterdammers, KLABU = Atia and Atia = KLABU. That’s because since 2019, Atia has been the smiling, bouncing and welcoming Store Manager at KLABU. A refugee himself, he can tell the KLABU story like no other while also impeccably serving customers who are looking to join the KLABU.

For Atia, sport has a unique power to reignite spirit and give hope. Away from his home, he has found in KLABU a family and club that helps everyone “find their identity beyond being a refugee”.
He hopes to inspire many more people, who like him, were forced to flee their homes because of persecution, conflict or discrimination, and show them that “life's challenges don't have to paralyse you - they can help you discover who you are.”
